well this isn't really a big deal, but i was just wondering. I've never really figured out an easy way to do this other than formating and reinstalling xp.

i just recently formated my computer and i have 2 sata drives in my pc. i installed the drivers before installing xp. when it came to the screen for me to select the drive i wanted to instal on i didn't know which one because i have 2 of the exact same hard drives with the same names. so i choose one. I don't want them in RAID by the way i just want to sata hard drives. well after installing if put the OS on drive E instead of the usual C. it would be alot easier if it were C, due to installing programs and such. is there a way of switching that without reformating?

After you back up your registry...

Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Find ProgramFilesDir whose default should be C:\Program Files

Change this to whatever directory you wish. D:\Program Files for example

For future the best thing to do would be unplug the other hard drive during windows installation then plug in after its done.
