Is there any way for a middle ground?!!

I am building a computer this summer with a 2500 ish budget minus a moniter. I want a workstation and gaming rig, but when I look for a GPU all I find is pure gaming or pure workstation... Is there anyway I can find a middle ground and be able to do both?? Please help - also, if you have any good build suggestions they would be greatly appreciated

well I cant help you on the video card part...

but Id suggest getting an Conroe at that point in time...

2GB of ram...

600 Watt PSU...

Workstation need a big hard drive?...

2 300 GB hard drive in RAID 1

Windows media?

just all suggestions...
