Hi i have built a p.c that does not start up and i am told my psu is too weak.

ATM my PSU is :

360watts

3.3v-22a
5v-21a
12v1-10a
12v2-15a
-12v-0.3a
+5vsb-2a

MY P.C:

Asus TA212 Silver midi tower 360W ATX

Intel Pentium 4 D 805 Dual core 2x2.66GHz 533FSB LGA775 2x1MB

80 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200rpm 8MB cache

Corsair Value Select 512Mb DDR PC3200 (VS512MB400)

Asus P5VD1-X Skt 775 PT880 Ultra 1066FSB P

Geforce 5600 128mb AGP 8x

Floppy drive

Cd-RW drive and DVD-ROm drive.

MY budget is around £30-40($65)

the 380w costs £46.94 and the 430w just bit more £52.82 , both prices include VAT of course , the 380w will do but why get it when the 430w is just a bit more expensive

hmm okay thanks. Do you have any alternatives.

OH yeh, and would a p.c reach post if i remove the cpu.

Antec make very good PSUs. However, for a gaming rig you need to have your 12v rails supplying 30A. Look up the specs on each power supply and see what they say about the 12v rails.

Keep this in mind: Your power supply is the backbone of your computer. Too many people cut corners concerning the power supply unit when they build or upgrade. But then they experience many issues that can be traced back to a power supply not producing what the system needs.

Also I would consider in the the future at least another 512 of RAM and a better video card. All in all though, you have some very nice hardware there. Good RAM, nice harddrive, and you have room to upgrade when the money comes in.
