video card qustion

hi guys
i got fx5200 but i want to upgrade it.
i thought to buy ati 5600 pro 128 or fx 5600
but then i heard that a new generation cards are coming.
so should i wait (and for how long??) for prices to drop down (how much ???).
or should i buy the card right now.

by the way. wich card of those that i want to buy is better.

ATI doesn't make a 5600. Are you thinking of the 9600?

The discussion of ATI or nVidia could go on for ages. (Search the forum and I am sure you will find plenty of opinions)

I use an ATI 9800 AIW. I prefer the ATI cards over nVidia. The 9600 pro card is a good card at a good price right now. You could wait for the next round, but in 6 months, there will be another round and so on forever.

I say go for the ATI card now, unless you want to wait for the 9600 XT to drop even more.
