im having problems because say i choose the VX924 over the 940B, and the VX924 is just a few bucks away from the nexx step of the 940B which is 940BF.. so is 940BF worth that extra bucks... but if it is then thats just ANOTHER few bucks down from VX922.. now is that worth it? soo much confusion so little time as i am about to purchage my computer TOMORW.. hard decision.
ALSO i heard the 940B doesnt come with a DVI cable, so if i was to buy the DVI cable then aint i better off getting the 940BF? AHH im freaking out lol.. which is better?? SAMSUNG OR VIEWSONIC!!

Don't get either of them, check out this:

The VX922 is a 6-bit panel, and so are the Samsung 970P and the Viewsonic VP930B, even though they are advertised as 8-bit. A 6-bit panel can only display 262,144 colors, an 8-bit panel can display 16,777,216 colors, just like a CRT. The best 8-bit LCD that is actually 8-bit and not falsly advertised, and has specs good enough for gaming is the LG L2000C. It is pricy however, but it is your only option if you want something that will truly display as many colors as a CRT and be good for gaming.

that just makes me want to buy a CRT monitor and dont get lcd until they can make one that can match a CRT quility... but damitt... so much room taken up.. i already have a small desk.

I would get the VX922, 2ms response (or so they say), and it does come with a DVI cable.

now that this topic came out, i dunno wat to do. i dun want a fake 8bit panel. ****, can someone tell me if the vx922 is truley 8bit? not 6bit and 2 bit?

It is a 6-bit panel, but it uses dithering to "trick" your eyes into seeing 16.2 million colors (as do most 6-bit panels). However, it is not always perfect, and it sometimes causes color banding. A true 8-bit panel can display not 16.2 million, but 16.7 million colors, just like a CRT. The only true 8-bit LCD that is good for gaming and that dosn't lie about being 8-bit (like the 970P and VP930B), is the LG L2000C. It is not cheap however, here is the cheapest I could find it:

I am going to be getting it soon. It also has some nice specs, 300 cd/m2 brightness, .255mm dot pitch, 800:1 contrast ratio, 8ms GTG response time.

damitt i guess ill just get a vx924 and hopefully i wont have to get a new monitor in 3 years least

EDIT: VX924 come with DVI right?
