I would probably cut down to 1GB of RAM and see if that is enough to jump the processor up a level, especially if that level is to a dual core. Dual core does have its advantages.

yea i think i would cut down to one stick of 1024mb and then later on in the future upgrade it.

and i went with 2x512mb instead of 1gb because of certain reasons i mentioned earlier.

If you are playing games now that you have a bit of extra money from the 2GB to 1GB go with the 6800GS.

lol guys, gez no one NEEDS a high-performance 256MB card. My radeon 9800pro does fine, but if i was in your shoes i would fort over the extra 80$ for that 6800, but it depends on what that is like in US dollars lol.

got any charts on 6600GT going up against the 6800GS at 1280x1024 resolution? cant seem to find any on google...

dont get 2x512 just get one stick of 1024 and then upgrade later on cuzz i know in the future the price for 1 gig will go down

I really think you should just get a 6800gs, it wont disapoint....
But since u seem to not be listining...
I think you should get 1gb ram then get dual core proccessor cause games will really start utilizing dual core in the future.
Also.. make sure that u get a lot of cooling. perferably NOT liquid cooling (to expensive)

ill stay with the 6600GT... cuz if i was to get the GS i rather get the 7600
