i have a amd athlon 64 x2 3800 .should i get a windows with 64 bit or just the cheap regular home edition.

so if i just want to biuld a computer with a dual core and 2 gigs just stick with the 90$ home edition and that will work fine.

No, the 32-bit version takes advantage of both cores. BTW, going from 32-bit to 64-bit does not increase the power of the CPU.

There was not much point in microsoft even going to 32 bit as everything is still based around 16 bit with microsoft (lazy *** mothers)

ummmm....no. and dont get home get proffesional. its better.

Care to elaborate on this?
As far as i know, windows Home and Professional edition are exactly the same, apart from advanced networking and other advanced administrative tools. If he just wants to game and use the computer for regular tasks, then Home is more than enough.

ya i also wonder that question, I need to buy an um "legit" copy of xp but not sure to go pro or home. I have pro atm so i dont know what home is like. But i dont want the pc to be worse/slower using home than it would pro.
