why... what are the benefits by switching to 6800... im not a HARDCORE gamer but i will be playing guild wars a lot and maybe battlefield 2, i dont think i need a 6800..

i would just get 1 gig of ram and save like $80(usd)
2 gigs is alot to start with
if its $1400 (cd) then its a ok deal

o and look for the case you have without the stock psu youll save like $40usd, since your gettin that 550w

Your video card isn't that strong. Try and get your hands on a 6800GS. Then your system will be beautiful.

6800 GS is not worth 80 dollars more than the 6600Gt, here in canada those are the price difference of the two cards.

Edit: if i was to change the PSU to 480 watt, and in the future i get like a 7800GT and another gig of ram plus maybe a new processor will it still have enuff juice? or is it more safe to not be stingy and pay the 25 bucks for 550Watt

Dude I live 5 hours away from you. How much are you paying for the 6600GT. It is worth the extra $80. You can find the 6800GS for $220 canadian.

Are you picking things up from the pacific mall or elsewhere? If you look at what your buying:

6600GT:

-8Pipes

-128mb DD3

-128-bit memory interface:(

I think 500/900

6800GS:

-12pipes

256mb GDDR3

256 bit memory interface

450/1050

This card will out preforme a 6600GT any day. Especially that one.

i think he knows it can out perform the 6600gt he is just saying if its worth the extra money and since he is trying to CUT down on his computer , id say the 6600gt is worth it cuzz he said that he doesnt care about playing games on high and medium will do him good i think the 6600gt is the way to goo
