Read posts concerning HD failure but I need to be reassured.
I have an IBM Deskstar 40 Gig drive that went bad after installing Windows XP (coincidence?). My BIOS doesn't recognise the drive anymore and there is beeping and clicking. However, after a minute or so, these sounds stop. Am I completely fried?
Most important, is there any way to recover anything on the drive?
