Windows freezes when coming out of standby

go to msconfig and remove everything except for the basic windows stuff. Then reboot.

1)how do i get there?
2) how do i know what is basic windows stuff?
im sorry but im a newb when i comes to computers

right click your network driver in device manager and select properties.
uncheck this

ok thanks, i unchecked the network thing, and i did the msconfig and there was a bunch of microsoft stuff checked off under services and all the rest is symantec stuff from norton.

is it alright to just let my computer run normal all day and night b/c i usually leave it on for 3-4 days at a time. Also, what about hybernate? Isnt that kinda like standby?
