Now i need a real gaming rig!

My limit is 1000$

From the weeks i have been browsing around in the forums this is wht i think is the best suitable for me...

PROCESSOR:AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2 Ghz Socket 939 200$

GFX:Nvidia 7900GT 256 MB 300$ [eVGA]

RAM:Corsair XMS 1 GB (2x 512) DDR 400 100$

HDD:Seagate Barracuda 80 GB 60$ / Maxtor DiamondMax 80 GB 50$

CDROM: LiteOn DVD-Rom / CD-RW Combo 40$

PSU:Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-400 ATX12V 400W Power Supply 55$

LCD:Acer AL1714A Black 17" 6ms LCD Monitor 200$
SAMSUNG 740N-Black 17" 8ms LCD Monitor 200$

Now i know the hdd space is aint much but i am not going to use much anyways...

Now i havent decided on the mobo...cant decide on the DFI or the Asus...

I will not be overclocking anything...

Also am i going overboard with the 7900GT?? I will be playing on mostly 1280 x 1024 res(cause thts the max res the lcd supports)...Do i really need tht kind of power or will a 7600GT suffice?

Still need a case too...any preference on cabinets?

Suggestions and tips please =)

PS:This is a little off topic but which are those monitors with video in ??
i would like to plug in my ps2 into the lcd if possible...

if you can afford the 7900gt you may as well get it. i would get at least a 480w psu as that seems to be the baseline nowdays, that psu is a good model though as you can see i have one and they are great. for the motherboard i reccomend DFI. if you have no intention of ever getting SLI i reccomend the Ultra-D if not the SLI-D.

yeah I second everything nitestick said there, you might want to push to 2x1gb ram if you can.

and uh........oh yeah nitestick already recommened the DFI, go with the Ultra-D if ur on a tight budget for now. Get the 7900GT. and yes get a better PSU. I'd suggest either of these companies.

OCZ, Enermax, PC P & C, Antec.

that is a pretty mediocre DFI. it has 1.5G/s SATA speed. thats half of any regular board i think. isnt it?
go with the DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D, its about $120.

DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THE PSU!
YOU WILL REGRET IT!
REPEAT
YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Cabinets? as in what?

cabinets as in the cases in which u put everything in! =D

the cases i mean... =P

i was refering the cheap-ing out thing on the mobo...

ultra-d for 120$ ? mayb i can adjust...hopefully....

i no, do not cheap out on mobo either.

a good case would be the Thermaltake Tsunami, its pretty good.
or if you can afford it the Thermaltake Silver kandalf, an AMAZING case.
But Tsunami if you do not need something that big or expensive.
