thanks!

If you want to get the 7900gtx of any kind you will have to wait anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks. That is because they ran out of stock because it was the first batch of cards that were released. So just wait a few days and you should be able to get one soon enough. BTW that particular cards in stock date is 3-31. So maybe then you can get it.

As for a sound card get the X-Fi Fatal1ty or X-Fi Elite Pro. Preferably the Elite Pro. For a keyboard if you are gaming get the Logitech G15 in my opinion. Or get a Saitek.

For speakers and a mouse, I would suggest the Logitech G7 for a mouse and Logitech Z-5500 for speakers. But those are just my opinions.

spartan thanks for the info! Will defiently look into those options.

also i was thinking if i'm going to be waiting anyway maybe i should buy some lan party motherboard i heard was maybe better than this one, anyone want to weigh in on motherboards?

also i'm wondering if there is a better choice for burner or if this or any burner will do?

thanks!

oh also was just thinking wouldn't it make sense to just buy the machine from a reseller like a dell or something? that way i don't have to deal with all the individual waranties and just get extended coverage on the whole machine?

i understand the pleasure thing of building the machine yourself but wouldn't it make more logical sense to get the total package covered under warranty especially as the price starts to climb?

thanks

1. Get this motherboard. You wont regret it;)

its exspensive but its the best motherboard you can buy

No, never buy anything that has to do with gaming from dell.

getting stuff pre-built is much more expsensive, and the beauty of building yourself is you know whats in your computer.

Newegg is great, have a problem with somthing or if you just dont like it, send it back :)

oh btw the burner you picked is fine......whats your budget any way man?.....cuase if you want to save some money that PSU is serious overkill!.....but yeah when buying a 7900 GTX make sure its by eVGA ...

also I suggest changing one of your moniters to this one..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116375

game on that thing^^ ;)

but if you want the other widescreen go for it....

well when you're talking high end build, dell is definitely not the way to go. you'll save money if you put it together yourself. dell is only good for PCs that are $200 or so, in which case the're a bargain. although i have no direct experience, ppl on these forums will let you know that dell makes really crappy computers. they don't use the best parts, as you would if you were to put it together yourself.

if you really want someone else to get it done, try a local comp store and they usually have warranties, and you can select all the parts you want. or something like monarch computers..

lord:

thanks, i'd love to get that dfi lanparty board but their out of stock and who knows when they'll have them again.

my max budget i'm thinking is around 5k

i chose the 1k psu because in the future thinking about expanding to two gpu, physics card, blah blah blah throwing money out the window but you only live once the dvd burner seemed like the least important part of the system so went skimpy on that.

really go down from the sceptre 20 in wide screen to viewsonic 19? i know its 2ms but will it really make that much of a difference?

the 1280x1024 max resolution on the viewsonic i feel would start to bother me after a while, i don't feel confortable without atleast being at 1600x1200

aliasaid:

appreciate the point of view, personally id rather just build it myself but the warranty thing just started worrying me especially considering i'm going to be spending 1k on the cpu alone

I've used ASUS for a very long time but I have been dissapointed with their entire A8N32-SLI and A8N-SLI series I've had many problems with them and the biggest one is a chipset/motherboard fan that "WILL" fail in 3 months or less. Check out your popular search engines for a wide array search for "asus a8n-sli fan failure" and the such. This don't mean ASUS is a bad choice how ever did you think about their none SLI boards, sli is costly and isn't cost effective I'm sure you could do without it after some research.

I have the A8N32SLI Deluxe and am staring at it right now. I may be blind, but where is this fan you are refering to?

This board has passive heatpipe cooling for the chipset. I think the board you are refering to is the A8NSLI Deluxe and not the A8N32SLI Deluxe. He chose the A8N32 SLI Deluxe and the RAM he also chose will work wonderfully. I have the same setup (see my sig)

Just becareful if you go to an after market HSF, most of them will not fit as that particular RAM is much taller than normal. I use the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. It works pretty good. Idles around 40-42 loads around 48-50 (playing games).

You could also watercool and not have to worry about it.

I love my G5 laser mouse and the G15 Gaming Keyboard.

As far as speakers go it's up to you. If you have the money, Klipsch is the best, PERIOD. Some people don't like them because they are not 7.1 but who cares.
