Comp Stuck On Boot!

i went to hawaii and came back and started to turn on comp and it just sits there at the windows xp loading screen with the blue bar going across forever so i tried to reformat by booting with disc and it gets stuck at a part where it has to launch windows... HELP

i'm thinking it has to be a hardware issue. please give more information about your pc in particular the drives. sounds like what can happen with a failing IDE drive.

Computers don't like to sit around unused, can sometimes be enough to polish off a failing drive.
