I have HP scanjet 2300c and is working properly last 2 years. Its creating problem when I installed sony handycam software. Its displays illegal operation message or just saying to restart the machine, try reinstalling. I have tried all of them but its not working anymore. I have tried uninstalling the whole hp program and cleaned the registry and installed again, but still its creating problem. I do not want to format my hard disk again as it fill up with most important data. Plz help...

well the info u gave us isnt really much to work with. and illegal operation??? r u running 98? if none of the stuff u tried works then just buy a hp psc. i got mine for 70 bucks at bestbuy. u need to give a little more info for help tho. there could be a completely different conflict than what ur trying.
