Recommendations on capture card

Is it better to get a seperate vid card and then a capture card so you can capture vhs tapes or do you recommend AIW.

seperate is better, Some of the USB 2.0 ones are pretty good.
I use a Plextor PX-AV100U..

I would get a Hauppage PVR 150 or higher. It has a built in encoder and very good picture quality.

I have a LeadTek WinFast TV2000 Expert and it is AWESOME. Everything on it is great. I read some reviews before I bought it and it was tested vs the Hauppage PVR series and it was neck 'n neck. Plus, the WinFast TV2000 Expert is cheaper so I went with it. I watch TV, play my PS2, and record movies on it. The program it comes with is very user friendly and it even comes with extra software just for what you want, recording. I think the WinFast is your best bet.

I have XP Pro SP2 and it works fine for me. I don't know about MCE.

i'd second the Leadtek, but if you can afford it go with the Hauppage, they have great reviews.
