Why are there Molex AND SATA power connections on the back of the HD?

What I mean to ask is: is there any benefit using of the SATA power connector over the Molex...and if so, why?

Thanks

I don't think so, but when ever I have used a W.D. I have always used the dedicated SATA one and not the MOLEX.

You can use either one, it dosen't matter. The latest generation SATA drives will not have Molex connectors. Either way, the drive has the same voltage and current.

Yes this is just a built-in adapter so you dont have to buy one if your PSU dosen't come with SATA power connectors.
