Hi, All .. I'm trying to get rid of personal files and emails, SECURELY, from work. Nothing ellicit, I promise, 'just want to make sure these files are unrecoverable ..

I found this great software called Anti Tracks (unfortunately not free, but has a 15-day trial period) from CNET. It uses the U.S. Department of Defense DoD 5220.22-M, Gutmann, and NSA secure-erasing methods, so 'sounds great to me!

Now, I used the program for my .doc files .. worked great. But, for email, Anti Tracks only supports Outlook. We have this thing called GroupWise by Novell (I know, who's heard of that!), so I don't know what to do. Anti Tracks supports a multitude of plug-ins .. you can even customize it to ADD a plug-in, but I don't know how to do it (or if it's even possible) with GroupWise ..

Does anyone know of another software I can use?

as most similar programs it likely can delete any file/folder by right click.. , look at the groupwise help file/options and find out where exactly the emails are stored or alternativly use filemon and add the groupwise .exe file name as a filter http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html then when youll access the emails youll see on filemon from what file/s its reading em among others

Hmm, surfing porn while at the office, eh?

Anywho, you'll probably run into a fatal flaw in your attempts if you find that the network you're on has any kind of respectable backup and audit-logging in place. If it's email, chances are there's a backup (either on the server or on tape) that you won't be able to get to.

As for the computer itself, the only way to be 100% sure is to shred the data and reformat.

Thanks for the input, guys! Hmm, this Filemon tool sounds intriguing. I'll give it a try. Of course, if there is a backup somewhere, then I'm S.O.L. Well, at the very least, make Big Brother work for it a little.
