Using a Toshibe laptop XP home code on a home built desktop?

I have a Toshba laptop that is fried. I took the HD from it and am using it ina a desktop. Is it possible to use the product key for my XP home OS on my newly build PC? I have the toshiba recovery CD's and no XP Home disc. Can I use an OEM XP Home CD instead? Can this be downloaded? I have an xp pro OEM disc.

The Pro serial will only work for a Pro OEM version. Have to use the serial with OEM Home edition. It can be downloaded but that is considered Warez and cant be discussed here.

well, it shouldn't be warez if you have a legal product key

True but you still have to download XP Home OEM. M$ would say to buy another. But to find a copy look either at thepiratebay.org or torrentspy.com or torrentz.com they should have one somewhere there.

you would be able to use it anyways, those are recovery cds which is more than likely an image of the old pc
