I have a slave drive on this computer to which all of my music, a lot of website coding+images, and some random personal files are stored. I want to reformat my primary drive, it's way overdue. Now, when I added the slave drive I didn't format it with windows files, I simply plugged it in, booted up, and it was a blank drive with absolutely nothing on it. Now it consists of all the aforementioned files to which I don't want to loose. So, can I simply reformat the primary HDD and connect the slave after formatting the primary and have windows recognize it just as it was with all the files?
