im very impressed with these new Conroe (the new desktop Intel processor). It smashes away the FX60 by upwards of 20 - 30%

well, just because intel has alot of promises dosent nessasrieily mean it will deliver, and AMD propably have a few tricks up their sleave too.

well so far no... amd is coming out with the am2's which r exactly the same as now only with ddr2. later on im sure they will. but outside sources also have tested the conroes and have all come to the same conclusion that the midrange chips (6600 was the one tested) beat the fx-60 by 20-40 percent. and the price so far is set at around 400! saving 700 off an fx-60. as for me, im going for one of the top! look out vista

This isnt promises, it was a benchmark by Anandtech or someone.

AMD has something to compete im sure. However this conroe is probably the only intel cpu i would buy.
