Help with DVD

i have built in dvd rom 16x Sony and today i puted movie in and it starts to spin it and then just stops and i cant get the dvd out i need to reboot

checked my drriver it says
driver date: 7/1/2001
driver version:5.1.2535.0

is it driver problem?? where can i get a new driver?

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but did you install the dvd correctly? The IDE cables correctly plugin, Master or Slave set, used the correct IDE interface?

i didnt do anything iit was installed when i bought my new PC

Does this happen with every movie you try to play or just one. If this happen with every dvd, try to replace your IDE cable with a known working one.

i dont want to go inside and stuff you think the problem is not a driver

it does with couple of movies which are perfect on my dvd player

Do you know the model of this Sony DVD drive? You could google for a firmware update or driver update.

i am not sure how can locate it?

If you don't want to open the case up to locate the model, you can go into device manager, locate you dvd drive and click on it's properties. In the general tab there should be it's name with some other information following it. Type it into google and search.
