SATA is not the name of an organization. Seagate, or WD is the name of an organization.

SATA stands for Serial - ATA, whereeas PATA stands for Parallet ATA (these went on the stand IDE interface.

are you sure the raptor x is better..? i've head it is the exact same thing just it has the window... in fact almost worse because of heating issues and such with the window (not performance wise, but in terms of the MTBF, which is half the wd1500)
