I am trying to select my memory.

ASUS A8N-E
AMD XT 3800

I was thinkinking of going with:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145575

BUT, I read this:

Static_11
~ Will you be overclocking?
If your overclocking, spend what you have. There are sticks for 40 bucks all the way up to 3500 bucks. The more expensive, the better the overclocks. But if not over clocking, go with some valueselect or something. Remember:
Performance: Cheap RAM = Expensive RAM
Oveclockability: Expensive RAM > Cheap RAM

And am wondedriing what to do??

I Do NOT Game!
I might want to try OC'ing in the future but not a priority.

Thanks

Those are a good choice for either overclock or general use. I'd even consider going with some cheaper corsair value select (which i have been using for a while with good results).

bigstanklo,

So it is between 3 corsirs.

1) VS2GBKIT400C3 (value select) $140
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145579

2) Twinx2048-3200c2 $159
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145574

3) Twinx2048-3200c2pt $160
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145575

So, If Im not super concerned w/ OC'ing but may want to in the future what might be my best choice.

Again, I am not a gamer.

Is the most $ one the best. or just the best at certyain stuff?

Or is it worth it to pay the X-tra $2o for non Value select? and which one?

Thanks

the 2 XMS have lower cas latency, which helps preformance. If yor not gaming then u wont tell the diff between 2 and 3 cas latency, and therefore the xms and value select. the value select does overclock, just not as much as "preformance" ram. I'd go with the value select

Corsair

I suppose I'll go w/ the Value Select.

If I do ever OC it will be very conservatively so it sounds like i'll b fine.

thanks alot. making all these decisions would suck w/out you dudes in the forums!

Cheers
