Today i have seen this version of the blue screen of death for the first time. What is so different about it you ask. Well it had a timer on it. Here is the jist of the message:

machine_check_exception

--side note: the # increases from 0 to 100, once it hits 100 the computer reboots back into windows.---

I dont know if it is coincidence or if it may actually have soething to do with it but here are the two circumstance in which this same message has appeared.

First time: After returning from a meeting, user sat down at computer, did not touch anything and the screen appeared. The only program running was outlook.

Second time: The user was typing an email in outlook and the screen appeared.


I dont really know where to begin with this one. i have not been able to find anything with the machine_check_exception that was useful. And i have definitly never seen a timer on the BSD.

btw bad capacitors can be easily replaced in any electrronic repair shop shouldnt cost much as capacitors are cheap and mobo will work fine after

What year was your Mobo???
I believe that AOpen mobo's between 1999 and 2001 or 2000 had bad capacitors. They would overheat and leak into the mobo.

Anyway, that was the problem when I hac a 0x9c stop error a few years back

That was definitly the problem. There were four capacitors that were not totally shot but very close. Our onsite electrician replaced them and all seems to be working fine now. This is not the first time i have seen the capacitors like this. Had a board like this a few months back. Didnt have the same blue screen however. This board was made by gigabyte as was the one we had a few months ago. thanks for the help guys
