My new SATA drives and the 137GB barrier

I just bought 2 hard drives,

the 80GB one is strictly for backup purposes when I reformat, so it won't matter.

BUT, will I run into the "137GB barrier" when I install XP on my 250GB drive? My windows XP CD has SP1 to boot and i've heard that I won't have any problems, but this is my first experience with SATA and I just want to make sure.

You shouldn't.......I didn't install WinXP on my 200gb on my HD like you're planning to do, but I never ran into the 137gb barrier thing happening. My XP CD also has SP1 in it.

nope no problems. sp1 upwards has the software barrier fixed and SATA drives never encountered the hardware barrier because they were invented after it was solved.
