harddrive size?

how do you find the size of your hardive if you don't know and how much space is availabe? i'm sure this hardrive was 40gb but when i go to defragment it shows capacity 13.98gb and free space 50% or 7.03gb free space. the file system is ntfs. i'm kind of confused on all this. i haven't had any problems but i thought the hardrive ws larger.

Go into My Computer and right click on your C: drive. scroll down to properties and when you click that, you should see a pie graph of how much space you have. it has numbers and everything.

sounds like a 15gb hd , if you have only 1 partition theres no room for errors its gotta be 15 , if you wanna know the exact model goto start-->run-->sysdm.cpl-->hardware-->device manager and expand "disk drives"
