For the past 8 months my AMD XP 2900+ has been overheating at the default clock due to my POS CPU fan, so I have come to you guys for suggestions for a better one.
The chip is supposed to be clocked at 400MHz FSB, but I currently have it clocked down to the only stable setting at 200MHz FSB, therefore the chip is half as fast as it should be (1GHz opposed to 2GHz).
Here are my computer specs:
No-name case
No-name PSU (300 Watt)
Ultra CPU Fan (U10-8502) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=86205&CatId=0
AMD XP 2900+
Chaintech 7NJL6 Mobo
512 Kingston PC3200 / 2x512MB Geil PC3200
So yeah, kinda iffy but yeah it works for me so thats all that matters. Here are the CPU fans I was looking at:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=184408&CatId=0
Or even http://xoxide.com/thermaltake-silent-boost-rxk7.html
Any other suggestions? I'm a big fan of Thermaltake, but whatever can fix this job will be the newest edition to my bandwagon.
Thanks
Josh
