Howdy, my dad is buying me all the parts for my custom computer. So i just wanna double check and make sure everything will work. I am also wondering if i'll be able to play some high end games and do video editing.

That would be a nice system. I also have the 3800 x2 and it is great. You will be able to play all the games on high settings for sure. Ive also heard that those psu's are great quality - charlie

Wait.. you're getting a 7800GS with a PCI-Express slot?
I thought they only made 7800GS's for AGP?
It's also the same price as a 7800GT regular, why not just get that?
Or if you're willing, a 7900GT is a nice card for not much more.
Also, if you'll be gaming and such, I think you'd want to pick up a different mouse, anywhere from a Logitech MX310 - 518, it's a good line of mice.

as for the mice, i totally agree with PcMe. the mouse you picked out is ps2 only--you get much better response w/ a USB connection. i have the MX510, and i love it, so i can only assume the MX518 will be that much better.

as for your aspire case, that'll totally bottleneck your comp. get an antec case and you'll get at least 20-30fps more in games...

whoops, my bad they do only make 7800 gs's for agp. I agree with pcme and aliasaid, the 7900 gt is much better for not much more. that antec case= 20-30 more frames has got to be a joke - charlie

The MX518 is better then the G5. The G5 only has one button on the side, they changed the sensitivity buttons next to each other instead of having each above and below the wheel (this makes is slightly harder to change them IMO), and it costs more then the MX518. The G5 does have interchangable weights but I find that to hardly effect anything when the MX518 is heavy enough as it is. It also has a tilting wheel but I find that stuff not as much useful as having the extra button on the side. It can go 2000dpi but even at 1600dpi (the MX518 fasted sensitivity) it almost gets out of control unless you use it a lot, and 2000dpi is just ridiculous. I haven't seen any big difference between laser and optical (except dpi) other then laser doesn't have the cool red light when you pick it up. I am not quite sure why logitech didn't took some of the features that were on the MX510-518 series and put them on the G5. The G5 is a good mouse it's just that the MX518 is better and cheaper too.

Have you had experience with the G5 or are you just saying the 518 is better because you have it? I love my G5, and since it doesnt have two buttons on the side i just changed the left and right tilt of the scroll wheel to forward and backward. Ive got pretty big hands so this mouse works out well for me as its pretty larde. I could see it being a problem for people with small hands.

As for sensitivity I always used 2000dpi for games and now that I've gotten used to it any lower feels wierd. When I turn it down to 1500 it just feels like I have to move the mouse so far to go anywhere.
