i have the cpu now what

alright i just recieved y new processor from new egg i am switching from a socket 754 sempron 1.8 to a 754 athlon 64 venice with plans to overclock the cpu but first i have to put it in my computer is there anything special i have to do or can i just in stall my processor and turn on my computer without problems if it helps i have an a asus k8s-la mobo i found all the info for my mobo on the hp website but it as all worhtless to me cause i dont understand any of the specs

You can't overclock a HP computer if the motherboard came from HP.

If its your own motherboard you may want to flash the BIOS and buy a good heatsink/fan like the thermalright xp 90/ Panaflo.
