i have an msi k7t266 pro2 mobo, with 256 samsung ram in it. i just bought some crucial pc2100 ddr dimm ram, put it in my machine, and the system doesnt know its there? can anyone help me please, i have no idea what to do.

Remove the original and replace it with the new and try it. If no joy then take it back..

update: well i managed to get the 512 ram installed, working fine, but now my 256 stick doesnt get detected, lol,

512= crucial pc2100
256= samsung pc2100

ive tried every single combination of slots there is, still no luck. is there anything else i can do? it definitely isnt faulty ram cos both sticks work fine on there own.

Maybe you can check with the Mobo Manufactuer for Ram Compatibilities with their Mobo, Strange problem but weirder stuff's Happened.
