im trying to link all my email accounts to outlook
im having problems with aol and aim accounts
heres what I did for AOL:
. Launch the Microsoft Outlook software.
2. Click the Tools menu, then click E-mail Accounts....
3. Choose the Add a new e-mail account option by clicking it, then click the Next button.
4. Choose the IMAP option by clicking it, then click the Next button.
5. In the Your Name: box, type your name as you wish it to appear on outgoing e-mail.
6. In the E-mail Address: box, type your full AOL® e-mail address, for example,
GabbyGrace@aol.com.
7. In the User Name: box, type your AOL® screen name, for example, GabbyGrace.
8. In the Password: box, type your AOL® password.
9. In the Incoming mail server (IMAP): box, type imap.aol.com.
10. In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): box, type smtp.aol.com.
11. Click the More Settings button.
12. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
13. Click the My outgoing server requires authentication box to place a check mark in it.
14. Choose the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option by clicking it, then click the Advanced tab.
15. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP): box, type 587, then click the OK button.
16. Click the Next button.
17. Click the Finish button.
keeps asking me for my password and user name
AIM:
Open Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
In the E-mail Accounts window, select Add a new email account then click the Next button.
In the Server Type window, click IMAP then click the Next button.
In the Internet Email Settings (IMAP) window, enter the following information:
Your Name. Enter the name you wish to appear on outgoing email.
Email Address. Enter your full AIM email address, e.g.,
GabbyGrace@aim.com.
User Name. Enter your AIM screen name, e.g., GabbyGrace.
Password. Enter the password for your AIM account.
Incoming mail server (IMAP). Enter the following: imap.aim.com.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP). Enter the following: smtp.aim.com.
Click the More Settings button.
In the highlighted field, enter in the name by which you'd like to refer to this account, e.g.,
GabbyGrace@aim.com or My AIM.
Click the Outgoing Server tab.
Click the My outgoing server requires authentication check box, if it is not already selected.
If the radio button next to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is not selected, then select the button.
Click the Advanced tab.
In the Outgoing server (SMTP): field, change the number that is displayed to 587. (Alternate port number: 25)
Click the OK button, then click the Next button.
Click the Finish button. Outlook is now set up for use with your AIM.
