I think SLI is just a waste of money, i would just buy a 7900GTX or keep the X1900XTX. everyone with SLI just has tooo much money, or wastes money, and dosent know anything about it and think that scince it's 2 cards it's double the performance but it's not. but on the anandtech charts on F.E.A.R. one 7900GT dose half of 2 7900GT's in SLI so it's getting better.

I did it because the cost is close and the 2 gt's are going to win in pretty much everything. That is pretty much why I am returning the xtx and getting the gt's.

Back that up please. I don't believe you, period. The 7900GTX is a little more comparable to an X1900XTX.

Go find them yourself, I don't care enough to find benchmarks for you.

Basically, Crossfire sucks compared to SLI. Its just not done. Nvidia gets much greater performance from 2 cards in SLI than ATi gets from Crossfire. A 7900GT wouldn't touch a X1900 in single-card more, but SLI is a whole different world.

Tom's hardware is extremely ATI/Intel biased. The website plain sucks.

Check out Anandtech;

1280x1024 4xAA;
7900GT SLI - 81FPS
X1900XTX Crossfire - 72FPS

1600x1200 4xAA;
7900GT SLI - 58FPS.
X1900XTX Crossfire - 54FPS.

If you don't believe Anandtech, well, I won't even say it.
