I tried to OC my 6600GT and got it to 564/1.07 Can it be my power supply that's not letting it go past this? I have only 350watt psu.

I also bought the zalman gpu cooler, and I can't go over564/1.07 without artifacting. I use ATI Tool to see if it artifacts, and coolbits to overclock. I'm I missing something out? I always put the zalman on full speed and also put my spare cpu cooler next to it for extra cooling, but I can't seem to go over these numbers! Is there something I'm doing wrong? I mean I got it up to about 600+/1.12? But when I did the artifact test with ATI Tool it found lots of artifacts. What can I change?

chances r it's ur psu, also it could be u just got dud gfx card for ocing.

IF you're going to oc get the antec truepower 2.0 550w.

That card recommends a 350 watt or above....so I would think that if you were to OC it would drain more juice than you can supply.

Not to jack your post...but my question is similar. I have an Antec Smartpower 500w powering:

-amd64 3200+ at 2.4ghz
-2gbx1 ram
-6800gs at 502/1254
-2x7200rpm SATA Seagate 160gb HD's.
-1 floppy, 1 DVD burner

I only scored a 5009 in 3dmark05. Do I have enough power? I would have thought 500w would be plenty.

dude 5009 isnt half bad for a 6800gs. With my 7800gt at gtx speeds i got 8000. Thats also with my 3700+ at 2.4 and 1 gig of ram

also..pc2100 ram might be a real bottleneck.

I just ordered 2x1gb Gskill last night so we'll see how I do after that.
