We are using Outlook 2002 and 2003 on Win XP, SP1 or 2 with Win2000 Exchange Server.
I want to know if there's any way to automatically disable (and doesn't get overwirtten by anyone other than admin) instant message?
I can find a way to delete instant message but is it fine to delete when we are using exchange server?

Please help!

I found it. it was...
Start > Run

Gpedit.msc

User Configuration > Administrative Components > Windows Messenger

Enable “Do Not Allow Windows Messenger to be run” and “Do not automatically start Windows Messenger initially”

Close Group Policy

Disable Instant Messaging
1. In the System Policy Editor, double-click the Default User icon.
2. Select and expand the Microsoft Outlook 2002 node.
3. In the Microsoft Outlook 2002 node, select and expand the Instant Messaging node.
4. Select the Disable Instant Messaging in Outlook check box.
5. In order for this policy to work, it must be enforced. To enforce the policy, select the Check to enforce setting on; uncheck to enforce setting off check box.
