Bit of a pickle with the ATI X1900XT

I don't have a 7800GT, so I look at benchmarks, and add 5-10FPS to them. According to the latest 7800GT benchmarks, it gets 25-30FPS in FEAR. I know that I get around 60 FPS on this X1900XT (overclocked) though.

That 7800GT benchmark is 1280x1024 right? or 1600x1200? Look at the res im at and then look at what your saying. Do you see anything funny w/ that?

The 7800GT is getting 25-30FPS in FEAR on 1280x1024 resolution with 4xAA and 16xAF.

I'm not saying anything, thats what the benchmark says. I actually add a few FPS to benchmarks, since they're usually overly dramatized and get lower FPS than reality.

The X1900XT, in my personal experience, gets ~60FPS in FEAR on 1280x1024 resolution with 4xAA and 16xAF.

The point being, that the X1900XT is not only meant for high resolutions, but its just as effective in normal resolutions.

My point is i have an AGP card w/ only 16 pipes compared to the GTs 20 and i still perform on par or better than it. Not OCed of course. Wierd :freak:

My high resolution makes up for puny 4x AA. On a 21" CRT there is absolutely no difference. Im also using 8x AF. I think ATI cards only have 16x AF.

Here is the Viewsonic I just purchased for about $200 dollars less than the VX922 Viewsonic VX924 With free Second Day Shipping.

It has 4ms respnse and as far as I can tell no gohsting. Haven't used it for gaming, but DVDs really look good on it.

More like $50 less, the VX922 is $369. The one you bought is $327...
