Yeah, the x800 series was ATI's attempt at competing with the 6600GT. Because of driver issues and just a horribly thought out project, it failed.

beedub had an X800Pro not an XL......a friend of mine has an X800XL and it's a fine card. It's basically on par with a stock 6800GT.

No SM3 is valid, but if you look online apparently both nvidia and ati failed in some aspects with regards to the SM3 thing.

$120 for that card isn't bad at all though considering it's like $169 or so at newegg....if it were at that price to spend though I'd definitely go with the 6800GS which if you overclocked would be WAY more powerful than that X800XL

Soooo really, if you can hold out and maybe splurge on $50 more I'd get an evga 6800GS, otherwise, no the X800XL is not a bad card at all.

Definitely the 6800GS is the best. If you have the money buy that, but if you dont then the 6800 eVGA card will do just fine. I highly recommend the 6800gs though.

ya i like the 6800gs to becuase i am going with one to.

i just gotta stress, for $120, get the x800xl
