ATI x800xl

Hey guys, i can score an ATi brand x800xl for 120$ is this card any good for the money?? is there any other card within 12-20 dollars that is better?? Im a console gamer lookin to give the pc stuff a try, so just wondering if this will get the job done for the price.

X800XL is really bad, no SM 3 support....

terrible card. I've dealt with the X700 series, and it couldn't be worse. The 700 series is just a crippled 800 series, so they're the same thing.

For an entry level gaming card look at the X1600PRO or 6600GT

For more power look at the X1600XT, X1800GTO, X1800XL or 6800GS, 7800GT,

For high end look at the X1800XT, X1900XT, X1900XTX or 7800GTX, 7900GT, 7900GTX.

I have heard horrible things about the x800. so many peple cap on it in these forums. Get a 6600gt or a 6800gs. Best cards in your price range.

Definitely the 6800GS is the best. If you have the money buy that, but if you dont then the 6800 eVGA card will do just fine. I highly recommend the 6800gs though.

x800xl is a good card... better than a 6600gt

but if you are considering a 6800 series card, then the 6800gs would be the first choice. one of best value cards out there.

edit: after doing some more research, i'd go for the x800xl even over the 6800gs. if they were the same price, then maybe i'd consider the 6800gs, but at that price the x800xl. you guys judging the x800xl by other ati cards like the x800. totally different cards.
