Well at least its better than 300watts. I ran my 6800GT on a 420watt generic brand PSU for a while but i got random start ups sometimes. And i know some ppl that will disagree that the X1600pro is horrible.

Its not horrible, but like a lot of things with PCs, you can do better.

It runs (w/ experience) like a 5950 almost. It will play Guild on high and BF2 medium-high (some settings on high like 1 or 2 if i remember right) w/ 1024x768. No AA no AF. What are your system specs your putting the card in.

I bought a new power supply (430 watts) so that I may use the X1600XT. Unfortunately this is the best card that will fit my mini-tower.

Try it it might be fine. Your not really pulling much power anywhere else. Just dont try to OC or anything.

Don't bother with the X1800 series, the only thing worth buying is the X1800GTO (when it's released later this week). The 7800GT eats the X1800XL in most benchies, although the X1800XL grants better picture quality.
The 7800GTX used to beat the X1800XT in performance, but since the X1800XT's can be found for $350-400 now, they are much more worth it.
The X1900XTX is stupidly overpriced for a 25/50 gain over the X1900XT, buy the X1900XT and save the $50-100 and then OC it yourself. You'll thank yourself.
The X1600PRO is an okay card, but pay the extra $25 and get the X1600XT or the 6800GS which is the best offer really.
Your going to have to upgrade your PSU at some later date if you ever want to upgrade, might as well do it now.

if hes talking about all these cheap cards then why even bring 7800GTX or X1900XT into this conversation. Were only talking about what he can afford here.
