RAM Help

I am looking to upgrade my RAM and I'm wondering about RAM Timing. I currently have 512mb and an Athlon 64 3700+ and I plan to do a lot of gaming. Would it be better for me to get 1G of 2-2-2-5 RAM, or 2G of Cheaper, slower RAM? Thanks.

the games of the future(and some now) require 2 gigs of ram, especially if u want high resolutions all maxed out. if u arent gonna overclock just get 2 gigs of value ram and make sure u dont get 4*512.
the performance difference in ram timings is not really noticable at all and is just so benchmark gurus can get better scores.

It depends. If you are using something that doesn't use 2GB of RAM get 1GB. If you get close to 2GB, use 2GB.

The faster RAM will always beat a larger amount of RAM if it never exceeds the amount of RAM the faster RAM has.
