Just placed an order on the Geforce 6800 GS AGP

I am upgrading from a 9600 XT, and paying 220.00 bucks to do so..

Just wondering if anyone did a recent upgrade and can tell me if the 6800 GS is worth the money I spent..

Also, I was told that to get best performance with a GS card, you need to unlock pipeline by flashing the BIOS?

Can someone elaborate on this? I have some experience with Mobo BIOS and such, but never messed around with a vid. card BIOS or pipelines before..

ah.. i read a huge article on unlcoking the pipes, but i don't really remember how.. but ya, if its anything like the pci-e card, its excellent, you'll love it!

Decent choice for your upgrade,Just got my 6800GS last week and i'm loving it As for unlocking the pipe's just follow this guide and you should have no problem's,No need to flash the bios and that crap.

If your going to stick w/ an AGP slot for a while your best bet for a little more would have been a 7800GS instead.

Yea, I was looking at the 7800 long, and very hard, but just don't have the finances to afford that right now

Yea, I'm pretty sure it voids the warranty.

I just got my 6800GS AGP today, and I unlocked the 4 extra pipelines and extra vertex shader without a hitch. All you need is to follow that guide linked above.
