Hi everybody, Please excuse me for bothering all of you, see I need your help, I'm new in this stuff of knowing what the Ghz of a processor, so I'm very ignorant in the field.
The problem is on my friend's pc, it overheats a lot, and the processor's heatsink produces a lot of noise, it's very annoying, at first I didn't know what was the cause of the noise nor that it was overheating, but another guy opened the pc case and touched the heatsink and noticed the high temp, he said that the problem was due to the video card.
Well I think they bought the computer already overclocked or with an inadecuate heatsink ( beacuse the video card is pentium as the processor)i'm asking you for advice and help, to either underclock the pc or buy a better heatsink or new fans.
The sysem in question is a cloned pc bought in a major telephone company with bad reputation in the quality of the sucky cloned computer they sell :
Pentium 4 processor clocked at 3 Ghz
512 MB RAM
Intel extreme graphics 2 ( don't remember if it's the driver or the video adapter name )
Everest home edition detects temps. aroun 62 - 65 if the pc is idle and of 70-72 when the fan is going crazy, the fan spins around 1700 - 2000 rpm, and the processor overheats very quickly specially with 3D aplication such as the test of dx diagnostic or games like GTA Vice City, please help with my issue. New Fans or Underclok. if Underclok, at wich rate, the multiplier is at 15, and wich voltage, I heard that if not underclocked correctly ( not lowing the voltage ) the processor can be fried.
