Massive problem would appreciate help asap please!

hi,

my computer has decided it won't boot this morning. I turn it on and the fan seem to be working fine. All i get are beeps that last 4 seconds then break then repeat the beep. I have opened the computer up and can't se anything wrong.

Can anyone shed any light on this mysterious problem?

what kind of motherboard do you have?

the mother board is Jetway Intel chipset for P4.

all it does is continually beep on and off and trys to boot up. Any ideas?

if your mobo came with a book look in it for bios beep codes
cant find anything online about beepcodes for a jetway bored... how old is it? maybe the ram died i have no idea...

should i maybe take out a stick of ram (i have 2)and see what happens?

ok in the jetway online manual it says ' long beeps in an endless loop- no dram installed or detected'

Any clues static?

ok i took out a stick of 256ddr ram. Computer no seems to be booting up. It would seem the bloke i bought it off used to different kinds of ddr, mybe causing the problem.

To eliminate ram as the cause try both the sticks in different slots.
Something must have busted seeing as it worked fine before right?
Maybe sure all your cables are in tight. Power to mobo hdd, ide in hdd, video cards in tight.
