Floppy Drive Help

i have a sony MPF920-E floppy disk drive. the problem is that it cannot read floppy disk....means on clicking the floppy in my computer......it displays that ""Please insert a disk in A:/.... what shall i do? i have also inserted a brand new floppy drive and tried it many times .....please help.

Is there anything unusual like your floppy drive light being on constantly?
Also have you used new floppy disks? it might be that the disk your using is bad.

try getting a Q-TIP (cotton swab) and try cleaning the inside of the disk drive

make sure you have the cable connected properly, try different disks to see if it can read them. Floppy disks do not have a long life.

tried everything.....just not working.....man...i need to buy some new drives ...well ok...thanks for the suggestions given

^^^^ yes the light is continuously turning on

If the light is constantly on then its pretty certain you have the floppy cable in the wrong way arround...

Try putting it in the other way
