Will the 7900GT use more power than the 7800GT?

Great so if my psu could handle a 7800GT then it would be a good idea to go for the gold and get the 7900GT if the speculated price of 300 dollars is correct.

Why would you buy a 7900GT when you have a 7800GT? The 7900GT performs the almost the same (it's just a little bit more powerful) as a 7800GTX but is going to be cheaper. And the 7800GTX only has like a 5% performance increase over the 7800GT. If you going to want to upgrade get a X1900XT for 500 bucks (which can beat the 7800GTX 512MB version).

Yes, the X1900XTX has a high core clock speed. comparing those two Geforce cards is like comparing the old ATI Radeon 9600 with the 9700. Why would you spend the extra money if you really aren't going to notice the difference?
