I have turned off page filing for my machine in the advanced tab under system properties. I did this because when looking at performance in task manager my machine was not using even half of my physical memory. Will this have any negative impact on performance? If so Why? Also after turning off page filing and looking at performance in task manager it still shows page file usage. Whats up with that?

Virtual Memory in Windows XP

Introduction
This page attempts to be a stand-alone description for general users of the way Virtual Memory operates in Windows XP. Other pages on this site are written mainly for Windows 98/ME (see Windows 98 & Win ME Memory Management) and, while a lot is in common, there are significant differences in Windows XP.

I have read the link and understand what P/F is for. Did I understand correctly that page filing CAN NOT be turned even when you select no page filing?
