well right now, that is converted to an athlon 64 3000+, which runs at 1.8GHz, but the yohna cores are already out from intel, and conroe is coming very soon, and the tables may very well turn.

Yes, they are "comparable" to their Intel counterparts. Ofcourse there are applications Intel performs better and there are applications AMD performs better.
