GAK8NSC-939 mobo
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
2 GB DDR 533mhz
HD 1 = 160GB IDE

HD 3 = 250GB SATA
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Nvidia 7800 GS OC 256MB GDDR3
HP DVD640I "Lightscribe"

this system should handle just about anything I throw at it, or atleast I think it should. But I get random reboots while playing games, or just sitting there. I was even getting Shut downs while trying to install Windows.. it was Installing and Poof off it went.... While playing games either online or offline it reboots and gives a host of different stop codes.. It is really starting to get to me...

It looks like ram to me, download memtest like nitestick said. It could also be your hard drive (not too likely), try defragging and running scandisk.

sounds like the ram take a stick out and try it if it still happens put it back and take out a different one also make sure the heatsink is seated right on the cpu it might start to over heat and shut off

OK THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

It was the ram I downloaded Prime95 and it ran for 1 second before aborting due to error.. Then I downloaded Memtest86 v3.2 it ran for 7 minutes before finding over 5,000 errors. I called the Local shop where I bought the Ram, and they exchanged them on the spot. I ran Prime95 for 3 hour 46 minutes while Playing the Sims2 Nightlife at full Everything.. there were some hanging but not much but it did not shut down one time. then I Ran Memtest86 for 11:43:08 std test it done 18 passes and 0 Errors. as far as the hard drive goes. I have Diskeeper 9 and it keeps me defragged, but I check everyday to make sure.

Thank you again for everything If it werent for ya'll I would still be scratching the head going " Idunno"

Thats pretty impressive - playing a game while running Prime95. Prime eats up CPUs like they're nothing.

You don't need to defrag every day. It takes up way to much of the resources and won't help unless you are moving a lot of files around or installing/uninstalling programs.

18 passes is pretty good, you should expect nothing less for brand-new RAM at stock settings. :D
