Hi
I have got 2 USB ports on my mobo(Gigabyte 81875 Ultra) and 2 USB 2 ports.

when i go to my device manager, under "Other Devices", the USB controller shows the exclamation mark.
i checked it's properties and it shows

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
Location : PCI bus 0, device 29, function 7

i checked all hour ports with a 256 MB Crucial GIZMO USB Memory STick, and it can read it.
why does it say there is no driver then?
is the problem only with USB 2 devices?

Hi
I just hooked my Sony Cybershot to my PC, and i got the following error

The Unknown USB device is a HI_SPEED USB device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non-HI-SPEED port.

There are no HI-SPEED USB host controllers installed on this computer.

I think i will check Gigabyte's websute for the USB host controller.
Any thoughts

click Reinstall Driver
did you reintall it or update yr driver?
what error message you get, it sounds like a IRQ conflict?

some motherboards have 2 USB controllers , each is enabled and disabled in CMOS setup .

I think it might be a Windows XP issue.
Windows XP Pro 2002 might not be supporting USB 2(HI-SPEED)

i will install SP1 and see if it works
what do you guys think?

I installed windows xp sp1 and the exclamation mark goes away. i think it should work with USB2.0 devices.

time to find out if all four of my ports are USB2.0 or just two of them
