the HT rating for my motherboard is 800MHz. even though it's socket 939 which uses 1000MHz HT. is it okay to bump up the HT above 800? I don't know what a performance difference it'll make, but I'm willing to benchmark and find out. At my current overclock I can either run it at 900-something or 600-something.

any thoughts? suggestions?

well thats what it said on newegg.

HOWEVER, from the motherboard manual:

HyperTransport Technology:
- 16 x 16 link running at 1GHz for extremely high throughput (8.0GB/sec)

That's the only mention of "hypertransport" in the entire manual. so maybe newegg is wrong, or am I misreading something

I think it would be ok. You can overclock the hypertransport you know, mine is rated at 1000mhz, but I have overclocked it to 1100+ before. Go for it. You may need to raise the LDT voltage to make it stable.

Don't know, my motherboard dosn't have any hypertransport vdd, check the manuel. I think it was just a mistake on newegg's part, you shouldn't have to adjust the voltage.
