I would like advice on any possible cpu, mobo, graphics card combinations using a budget of £250.

  • The cpu should be AMD Athlon 64. At the moment, my basic Athlon runs at 2.19Ghz, so i dont really want to lose any processing power.
  • The mobo should be based on the nForce chipset and not be micro sized.
  • The graphics card should be equal to or better than my current XFX nVidia GeForce 6600GT and should also be PCIe.

Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

Just buy a new 7800GS for AGP. PCI Express 2 is coming out in 2007. Just wait and use what you have. There is no point upgrading now when socket 939 is at the end of its life.
